In a grand gala event, organized by Council of Power Utility and KW Conferences and attended by the dignitaries from the cross section of the power sector, IEX, living upto its reputation of being India’s First and No 1 Power Exchange, Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) was awarded as Best E-Enabled Customer Platform in 2nd India Power Awards 2009, for developing a robust platform for energy trading. Mr. Jayant Deo, MD & CEO, IEX received the prestigious award from Shri Bharatsinh Solanki, Hon’ble Union Minister of State, Ministry of Power, Govt. of India, in the presence of respected jury members and other dignitaries from Power & Energy sectors. Energy Exchange which is perceived to be feasible only in the surplus scenario, IEX going against the odds took the initiative to set up India’s first power exchange even in the power deficit scenario. Most importantly, the Exchange’s efforts paved the way for the economy to take to its wings not only meeting its entire demand for power efficiently but also by helping the nation to be self-sufficient in power. Ever since its commencement, IEX has revolutionized the way electricity has been traded. From the days of trading over the phone, long meetings & negotiations to now just by a “single click”. IEX in just over a year’s time has got nation wide acceptance with total no of members and clients touching 190. This itself is a milestone to reckon with.
